From what I understand, we manufacture chlorine dioxide from hypochlorous acid in our bodies (I would think that all mammals probably do the same).
To me, it is somewhat analogous to Melatonin ... it is not found in nature, I don't think, except within our bodies (the chemical that is the sleep trigger). Taking such substances theoretically runs the risk of the body becoming dependent, or reducing it's own production concurrently.
It is my experience that this does not happen. My immune system was boosted immeasurably by taking this stuff, and it was very strong even if I stopped taking it.
