Re: Heart issues/numbness/weight gain/depression
Hi there, I can totally relate to your issues. I had the Mirena put in in Aug. 2006 and had it removed in June 2007 so it has been about 6 months now. My main problems were weight gain and acne. I put 35
pounds on in a 10 month period and I had never gained more than 5
pounds in my life!! I work out 5-6 times a week and still nothing would help and I was exhausted all the time. Its been a long road, but if you stick with it, it will get better. After getting it removed, I found the only way to lose the weight was to work out, in the mornings first thing, and cut all portions in half. After a few weeks your body gets used to it. So far since June I have lost 25 pounds. I don't eat more than 1200 calories per day and I do at least 500-600 calories of cardio, which is about an hour a day. It seems like alot, but once you start doing it, your body will respond. The
Acne still comes and goes but is alot better than it used to be. All I can say is, although getting the Mirena is the worst thing to do to a body, getting it out is the best thing, and you will feel better as time goes on. Put your faith in God, ask him for the strength to get through it, and no matter how unmotivated you feel, get at least 60 minutes of cardio in 5 days a week even if its a slow walk and you will prevail!
