I haven't really noticed anything like this, except maybe for some very refreshing sleeps that were possibly the result of chelation. But, if you really had to sleep 22 hours a day at some point in your life, then I can see most anything that would put a stress on your health resulting in the need for more sleep.
Maybe try lowering the dose? I have been chelating ALA for 3 months, and I'm only doing 15 mg at the moment.
