Folks will experiment irregardless of this forum. Many of the things that have now become standard "advice" on this forum came about because of this experimentation and the ill results that resulted from these "experiments".
I would say our "difference" stems more from our actual individual conditions coming into the MC and cleansing in general. You came into all this with some pretty serious conditions that has gotten to the point of putting you into a wheel chair. I on the other hand was/am relatively healthy and came into all this cleansing with minor things (compared to your condition) like shoulder and wrist pains and just general lack of energy. So in my case and I would say from my experience in the last 6 years participating on and off the vast majority of folks come into this forum more closely match my health level than yours and short of all the whining the vast majority are quite able and would greatly benefit from the longer fasts from the git go. For the minority more delicate/complex conditions like yours then your approach would be the more judicious. Even then I contend that short of not being physically able to do a longer fast everyone will benefits not only by the "known" actual physical gains but by the resolve cultivated by the experience of self control from the dicipline required of the longer fasts.
From the "cementing a resolve" to follow though on a total health approach and continuing on with a lifestyle change and doing all the cleanses etc I strongly believe that seeing the results and experiencing the mental aspects of 14 day+ longer fasts will do the "greater good" when one looks at how things actually function and not how one thinks things should be. The mental barriers of dealing with healing and health are by faaaar the biggest obstacle facing people in general so the sooner one overcomes those barriers the better and swifter ones journey to healing and health will be. The bottom line is that everything that happens in our system including every single thought we have stems from a chemical reaction. On the longer fast you are in essence changing the chemistry in your system thus affording you a view from a place that you have never ever experienced before. Having this experience can be a cathartic event and it can certainly influence ones resolve and how one will view and act upon things in the future regarding ones wellbeing.
