Re: Another update

Hi Wintergreen (nice name BTW!),

>I think you probably did way too high a dose for your own body. Try going down to something way low, even if it is only 5 mg, and then do it on a 3 hour cycle.

Yes I think so....though even smelling the DMSA gave me a headache so wondering whether I should bother with it at all and maybe just stick to a low dose of ALA. I took a 'brain' supplement last Autumn with 100mg of ALA in it (not knowing it had any effect on mercury) and though I had some mental confusion, metal taste etc I didn't feel half as bad as I have this time and had a lot more benefits. Though I stopped when I realised I was going through a chelation!
With it being this being the second time round I've taken a chelator this might have made a difference of course.

>Yesterday, I woke up with sore kidneys on the second morning of a round. Not a nice thing. I immediately stopped my round, eschewed all supplements yesterday, took some corn silk tea, and drank a good deal of water

That doesn't sound good but good you realised you had to stop! My judgement seems to be less intact than that! I wonder if doing some sort of mild kidney cleanse will help. I did Andreas Moritz kidney cleanse for 10 days last year. It seemed to help a lot actually but had to stop due to insomnia and unbearable food cravings! He advises to stop eating animal protein during it which might not be appropriate for you.

>I'm wondering if it was the DMSA, or possibly the baking soda I was taking every morning to alkalize my urine, or something else catching up with me, like iron supplements.

Yes it gets very confusing doesn't it. I've been taking iron supplements too, but stopped for a little while (before chelating) as I wasn't sure if they were having an adverse effect or not.

>I may query Shelley at askshelley.com, as she is an expert on kidneys, or maybe one of the Yahoo groups.

Yes good idea. I post at Shelley's site too. I know things like cranberry juice and parsley tea can help kidneys. Also a low acid diet, though of course we also need protein during chelation. Magnesium supports the kidneys.

>I'll look into alternatives to baking soda,

I've just ordered some himalayan crystal salt. I don't whether this would be a good alternative for you, though it's a lot more expensive. Maybe put baking soda in the bath rather than drinking it. I added it to my ES bath the other night.

>It is so sick what was done to us.

Yes I know and it's the fact that it's not acknowledged and people are left without any support that really gets me.

Take care :)

Anne
