Gumline going back, PLEASE HELP!!!

I was at the dentist office and all of the sudden he made a weird face and asked me if I'm sucking on lemons a lot........I responded no (which is true), then he gave me a mirror and I saw my gum going back on my four front teeth.......I'm so scared, how can that happen. Just 3 months ago I was there for the cleaning and she didn't see anything so that must have been happening the past 3 months. Does anyone know, if there is anything what I can do to reverse that?
