Adenoids

Hi HG,
Could you please tell me something about adenoids? I was 5 when I had them
surgically removed, and I have been wondering for years if that is the reason why
I suffer from such severe sinus infections--they can take up to 6 weeks to totally
go away. Why do people have their children undergo this surgery (am assuming
it is unnecessary, as it is removing something that was probably put there
for a reason)? is it something that is commonly done nowadays? my surgery took place in 1954 in Paris. Thanks! Tweet
