Molar just chipped while brushing. No pain. Previous NICO diagnosis
I have had a molar (second from rear, upper left side) that has been chipped for 4 or 5 years. It was a tooth where I had originally removed
Amalgam and had biocompatibles put in.
But the tooth was proably compromised from years of
Amalgam filling.
I kept it clean as I could and the other day after I ate some almonds, I was removing the almond pieces with floss that get stuck there between the tooth and the molar next to it (rear most). I noticed that my floss had the color of old blood and yet I saw no bleeding and had no pain. Then the next day I felt a little roughness on the tooth on the cheek side at the gum line.
Last night when brushing I saw in the sink what appeared to be a rice particle. I had rice for dinner. But it was too hard. I looked carefully at the tooth in question and a small area at the gumline is missing. I have no pain or tooth sensitivity.
In 2002 I was diagnosed with osteomyelitis, oesteo necrosis and osteosclerosis. The cavitational surgeon, considered "the best in this field" said, that probably all my molars were non-vital and that the area of maxillary where my remaining wisdom tooth is was all white (on x-ray), indicating sclerosis. I never had anything done becasue I was with no money and I have not had the moey in years to do anything about it.
At current I am living for a couple more weeks on a couch and I have $186 in the bank. At this point I just want to keep the posibility of abcess or infection down. I cant go to a dentist. No money. They will only pull teeth and cause more of the same condition that allowed this to happen in the first place.
The original cavitational surgeon soon after refused to see me anymore as a patient. Because my MD father thought anything biological/alternative was quackery. My father said that before I go pulling teeth out needlessly, he asked me to send my x-rays to him to show his coventional dentistsand periodondists. Of course, they reported that I was fine, no problem seen on x-ray. This is exactly what the cavitational surgeon told me would happen. But he went nuts in anger on me and told me NEVER to call him again or step foot in his office. He was mad because I want ed x-rays for a second opinion and only did it to appease my father. This was too bad because he lived near to me and as American cavitational surgeons go, he was fairly priced.
He told me to get used to wearing dentures. I am really scared and I dont know if there are any advances to help me keep my molars. I havent been to my biological dentist in 4 years because of no money and I know at what he'll recommend. He is a different person from the cavitational surgeon. But he highly recommends him.
At this point I dont know how to proceed given my financial predicament. I hope to have job in a month and the maybe i can begin to see a dentist. But I have questions:
1)I have $186 and no job. What can I do to hold infection and poisoning at bay?
2) In what order should I proceed?
3) What is the approxiate cost for proper extraction of molars and curreting of necrotic bone? I need to what to save for.
4)ARe there any truly knowledgeable cavitational surgeons in the US or Canada that would make any reasonable effort to save teeth rather than just puling the lot of them?
5)4 quadrants and one wisdom tooth to extract with 6-8 molars to pull. What can I estimate this is going to cost?
6) What can I expect to pay for wholistic dentures?
this will now become the major mission in my life. I need what teeth I have left to allow me to eat. But having no money and this brewing in my head makes me feel really scared. Can anybody please offer sound advice? Please help, I cant afford to ask a biological dentist this at the present time.
Thanks,
phil
