Re: I'm a freak and proud of it!
Hi Garlic Dawg, the microscope I am using is a "Carl Seiss" photomic 2. It is an older research model, but with new objectives. It has every feature, and can be modified for different tasks. I can get images over 2000x but resolution is poor at this mag.
Total costs with the UV equipment and digital camera is total close to 6000Can dollars.
I have been observing B. Hominis at the highest mag I can go in darkfield setting.
The trick with observing these creatures is recognition, which comes with a lot of experience. It is a real investment in time and patients and not for everyone. It can get really boring staring at something so small for an hour at a time.
I don't even know if what I learn is even relevant. Newport makes a valid point about the significants of nailing down the type of microbes---there could be so many. It's more about knowing the condition you have, and treatments which work. Shroom
