It is the milder kind that the doctors use intraveinously when patients need very high doses. It is the only Vitamin C thats really worked for me. I believe you can add sodium bicarbonate to ascorbic acid to make sodium ascorbate. I'm not sure of the correct measurement of ascorbic acid to sodium bicarbonate though. This website tells why sodium ascorbate is much better if taking vitamin C in high doses.
