Cured by Herbs (PART 2: Eczema (Serborrheicc Dermatitis))

It pays to worry and my worst fear came true. A few weeks later (late October), I noticed to my horror that the skin above my lips and outside my lips and the skin between the folds of my nose seems to be flaking. At first, it appeared to be very dry. Few days later, flakes came out. My whole world toppled. It literally toppled. That day I sat inside my room for hours not moving. Just stared into blank space.

My whole world seemed to be obsessed with my condition. Everything is about my face. I scoured the internet hours and hours for information. Relieved to find people having same conditions. But also horrified to learn that this skin condition can spread to the whole body. My condition is more closely related to the term “Serborrheic Dermatitis”, a form of Eczema.

Few more consultations with GPs followed. Useless. I also went to see AD (NSC) again. This time, I was horrified with her calmness.

“There is some dryness around your mouth. And peeling around the nose. This is eczema. It may spread to other parts of the body and no cure. But we can help you to manage this condition better”.

Before I asked further, she cleverly shot back at me to prevent me from asking too many questions. She asked things like “Have you been scratching it a lot? Have you been under lots of stress?” Before I left, I insisted on doing blood tests like Kidney, CCR, red cell count, etc. All came back fine.

Deep inside, I felt that this is not right. Specialists are very good at diagnosing what conditions they belong to, be it eczema, psoriasis, cheilitis, or whatever they call it. They use many medical terms. This is good. At least they are fully trained in medical field and can bring up all these jiagons. But they only seem to be more interested in treating the symptoms than finding the cure!!! What is the use??!

My Eczema is driving me crazy. It is spreading (for sure) and becoming more serious. The flakes become bigger and sometimes there can be itchiness and inflammation.

I went on to see Dr Lu (Ma Guang). He told me most probably it is due to cells mistaken each other as enemies and eating up one another. At last! One logical and reasonable explanation about what might have happened inside the body and thus affecting the skin. He prescribed some Chinese medication for me. After eating for one week, my condition remains. Every sparkle that came seemed to be once again, covered in disappointment.
