Wobenzym N for Irritable Bowel Disease

I just began using Wobenzym N today as a natural anti-inflammatory supplement for my ulcerative colitis. I have read amazing research on Wobenzym's ability to eat up inflammation in the body when taken on an empty stomach.

Has anyone had any positive results using Wobenzym's for an Irritable Bowel disease or other digestive issue?

What doses did you use?

How severe was your flare up when you used it?

Here is some research on this lady that took 50 Wobenzym's a day and calmed down a 20 BM/day flare up to 6 BM/day in 1 week:

"Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease

Ulcerative colitis is recognized as a chronically recurrent inflammation of the large intestine. Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory disease which begins with the formation of granulomas and can be found throughout the entire intestinal tract, although it is most frequently seen in the ileum and colon.

Both conditions may be accompanied by conjunctivitis and other inflammatory conditions throughout the body.

Although corticosteroids and sulfa drugs are sometimes used, no satisfactory therapy is yet known.

Therapeutic success with Wobenzym N has been reported in numerous case histories. Dr. C. Neuhofer reports of a 52-year-old female patient who repeatedly suffered from severe episodes of ulcerative colitis with some 20 stools a day-a classic picture of an ulcerative, intestinal inflammation confirmed with colonoscopy. Corticosteroid and sulfasalzine therapy were poorly tolerated. The patient also demonstrated extensive anemia.

Dr. Neuhofer began therapy with 50 coated tablets of Wobenzym N given in small dosages throughout the day together with vitamins. After only one week, the number of stools per day had been reduced to six and laboratory values had returned to normal.

How to Use Wobenzym N for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease

After therapeutic success with up to 50 Wobenzym N tablets daily in small divided doses becomes evident, long-term follow-up treatment should be continued with three to five coated tablets of Wobenzym N three times daily for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.

Ulcerative colitis that has persisted for a number of years promotes the development of cancer. Today, it is thought that Crohn's disease has also demonstrated increased risk of cancer. For this reason, it is advisable to continue with Wobenzym N therapy indefinitely as a cancer preventive."
