So do I my friend, I am in almost unbearable pain. There is no hard and fast rules, but here are a few suggestions. First and foremost, avoid sugar. Sugars are highly inflammatory. One reason I am hurting so badly right now is giving in to temptation and having too many sweets today. Limit or avoid grains because they too tend to be inflammatory. When you do have grains make sure they are whole grains and not processed. Another food source of pain is eating members from the nightshade family. Try eliminating tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants and bell peppers from your diet and see if that helps. Mucus forming foods like dairy can also cause problems.
Some people cannot tolerate raw foods (i am one of those) If this is a problem for you, try to gently steam your veggies to get the most nutrition. Season with
Sea Salt for the trace minerals. Avoid caffeine including coffee and tea, chocolate and all carbonated drinks. I know that by this time you are wondering just what you can eat. Dark green leafy veggies are good, so are carrots and carrot juice in reasonable amounts (too many carrots can be inflammatory due to their
Sugar content). Tart apples and apple juice are usually good choices. Spices like ginger and turmeric are very anti-inflammatory. Cinnamon helps control blood
Sugar and may contribute to keeping down inflammation.
The real key is to do an
Elimination Diet so you can determine what will bring on symptoms and what is good for you to eat. Meanwhile liver and bowel cleansing can help your body get rid of toxins that can contribute to your neuralgia. You may find that magnesium supplements will also be very helpful as well as high anti-oxidant foods.
