Re: Hirschsprung's disease

Hello again BetterRed, what would be accurate to say is that chronic constipation can lead to a condition where the nerves in the colon become deadened after a long period of disuse, and effectively shut down and go to sleep.

A difference between this condition and Hirschprung's Disease is that in this case the nerves exist, and the reason they have become inactive is because of a failure, for whatever reason, to act on the message they have been sending. This can result from a variety of reasons, such as ignoring nature's call, medications that cause constipation, being confined to bed rest for a long period, and many other reasons.

Another difference between this and Hirschprung's is that in this case normal, or near normal colon nerve and muscular functioning can often be restored, and the constipation relieved by purely natural means.

The first step in this process is to remove all the old hardened waste matter from the colon, and in my opinion the best way to do this is with a series of professional colon hydrotherapy treatments along with daily enemas at home in between colonic sessions.

Once the waste has been completely removed, the colonic sessions can serve to exercise and strengthen the muscles of the colon. With abdominal massage and alternating the temperature of the water inflow to stimulate contractions of the colon, the muscular functioning and nerve response can often be restored to normal.

However, success is a function of how long the chronic constipation has persisted, along with the age of the client. The younger the person and the less time they have been constipated, the better the chance of success. But whatever their condition, getting all the waste matter out of their system can only improve their health and well being.

Valerie
