The tithe is for the widows and orphans, at least most of it. The pittance is for keeping the rabbis from begging. I just had this conversation with my brother. Most of the tithe was used for what welfare does now. The religious institutions still want their tithe but they don't want the responsibility of helping those little ones in need. The elders were supposed to visit the widow and orphans but they are relegated to door greeters and building committees. A sad state of affairs. If the temples of God were doing their part then we should give a portion to their upkeep. Are you reading my mail? Ha. We are on the same page.

I didn't make it to give my tithe this morning for because I needed to tend to my little one's needs. I think I was doing what I was supposed to be doing. I don't believe in a God of fear. Perfect love does cast fear out. I cast that monster out years ago. Thanks for your words of wisdom. Tweet
