Re: Parasites, Dysbiosis & Leaky Gut – Part 1

Interesting article, thanks.

I have a personal "problem of logic", however, with the following remarks:

Re:Bacteria,
"
..they confuse the immune system and may fool the body into attacking itself...
"

This has NOT been proven anywhere as far as I understand it. In fact, there seems to be a persistent controversy in this regard, and many medical doctors and researchers BELIEVE that the "autoimmune attack" premise may be wrong or incomplete. Evidence of this belief seems to be everywhere. For example:

Autoimmune Diseases

The textbook term "autoimmune disease" might be a misnomer - this is not a mischievous challenge, but since our immune system scans our body at each moment, recognising it as self, the disease process stands only for failure of such recognition. Should this occur, then the immune system arrives to the fallacy of self being foreign and agresses it: autoagressive disease is the term. At the 4th International Congress on Autoimmunity in Budapest, Hungary 2004, the interplay between genetic predisposition and environmental factor was again analysed: what triggers such failure of self recognition?

"
Bacterial colonies in the human intestine co-exist with colonies of yeasts, which are no less dangerous, just far fewer in number.
"

"
Bacterial colonization prevents yeasts from expanding their niche.
"

In conclusion, if and where "A" falters, I'm forced to wonder about "A+1".
