is this a swine free zone?

i am looking for an appropriate place to say some things and its getting hard to do. feel free to hide this if it is not the right place.

i do not think anyone can argue with this statement: the earth is unique in all the universe. equally inarguable is this statement: every person on earth is infinitely unique. since mankind is created from the dust of the ground, this makes every human a small model of the earth. this concept is most useful in looking at the bible.

is the bible about god or man? it is about both because the two are inseperable. is it about the flesh or the spirit? it is about both because they are inseperable in this existence. is it about male or female? it is about both, for man is both male and female. is it a history book? maybe, sort of, but that is not important. what is important is that it is the truth. well, the truth about what? about all of the above, of course.

now, consider this famous passage:

"No man is an island

Meaning

Human beings do not thrive when isolated from others. Donne was a Christian but this concept is shared by other religions, principally Buddhism.

Origin

This is a quotation from John Donne (1572-1631). It appears in Devotions Upon Emergent Occasions, Meditation XVII:

"All mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated...As therefore the bell that rings to a sermon, calls not upon the preacher only, but upon the congregation to come: so this bell calls us all: but how much more me, who am brought so near the door by this sickness....No man is an island, entire of itself...any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.""

this is the essence of the beast. it is a humanistic device for connecting us all and holding us down to our lowest common denominator. quite amazing that this is seen as a christian concept. it is about as anti-scriptual as it can be. the acceptance of this concept is absolutely a matter of choice, an exercise of free will which literally enslaves. how ironic.

the bible paints quite another picture. the lord never deals with groups. his focus is always on an individual. his word and his promises are always to individuals. it is always up to an individual to accept or reject his word and his promises.

if the comparison of man to the earth is to be properly considered, the earth is certainly an island. the life on this planet has no effect on other planets in our solar system, let alone the other stars or planets located on the other side of our vast galaxy or the universe itself. we are as seperated in our families as the planets and in our communities as the other stars in the galaxy and in our world as the universe itself. as a man once said, thats a lot of territory.

yet, it is not good for man to be alone. therefore, like the earth has its moon, a man has his female. it is only in the interaction between the two that life can be sustained. the female is every bit a part of the male. she is an amplification of his flesh, a mirror reflecting back to him who he really is. she is his flesh personified.

we can see the man as an autonomous entity like earth by looking at his body. he is surrounded by an atmosphere and covered with a thin skin. the heat of his body comes from the core and radiates out. his muscles and blood are the sea upon which his organs exist. these are cities populated by those of like "mind" or purpose. the chief of these is the government or capital of this world, which is the brain.

the human body is the garden of god. it is populated by many creatures, but they are not the ruler. the ruler is the man which god creates and places within the garden, to tend it. he becomes familiar with his surroundings, names the fellow creatures there in the garden with him, and because he is like his father, he creates another person from his own substance and keeps and nurtures her.

these two walk hand in hand through life, knowing each other and creating children through their doings. soon the earth fills with these beings, these thoughts, these precepts, ideals, concepts, rules, postulates, devices and mechanisms. they are all under the rule of the man, but like all children, some rebel, becoming impossible to control. others make deals with one another, create their own alliances and systems of government. in a short period of time, the earth is filled with these beings. if the man has not been dilligent in ruling over them and has not brought them up in the way he wants them to behave when they are grown, he will soon have chaos. he loses control over his creation and it becomes unrulable. it is time to die.

this is the flood. the seeds to repopulate the earth are gathered and saved and everything else is washed away by water. within this baptism is a death and ressurection. a new beginning is afforded by this process. it is a one time shot. now it gets serious.

as the water retreats and the dry land appears, the man once again, with his wife and children and the animals he has saved, begins to repopulate the earth. when this population grows, the tendency is to take those lessons learned before and take the world in the wrong direction. anything is possible, but instead of keeping the focus on the inside, the world bands together(lovely word: "to get her") and cooperates to reach beyond itself prematurely. this requires some outside help to correct, so the communication among the inhabitants of the earth is confused so they can no longer cooperate in these types of ventures. this leaves the man in a position to deal with seperate inhabitants at different times so that they cannot work against him while his attention is diverted from the the rest of them.

this narrative i just gave is by no means comprehensive, but is needed to sketch this in to get to this point. now there are some of these inhabitants which are only for temporary purposes. some of them are benign and attached to the earth where they will live and die. it is only those who will go on with the man after the earth is gone that need to be worked on. these are his family, his direct decendents. what makes them family instead of "others" is the fact that they obey his commands. if they do not, they must be corrected or killed.

since the clean sweep has already been afforded, the only option left to the man is to pay close attention and prune his vineyard on an as needed basis. be it an individual or an entire population, decisions must be made as to whether they are helpful or not. just like the population of cells called a cancerous tumor must be killed and destroyed, whole schools of thought must sometimes be extinguished and banished from the earth. as the earth grows in maturity, the man can enlist his sons to help in ruling. all manner of permutations are allowed because the man can create any system he wants. this allows for infinite uniqueness. the fact is, though, that only certain characteristics will be allowed to pass over with the man. it is up to him to design things in such a way so that his world is in line with gods will. this can be as much of his world or as little of his world as he chooses. he is free to determine this and many of the minor aspects of his creation.

in fact, as the man learns to govern his world, he sees that the lords precepts are the ones that work. his commands are for instruction in how to accomplish all of this. they enable, not hinder. it is always for the man that these things are told him and always in his best interest.

spiritually, all of this takes place internally - in the kingdom of heaven. one must be willing, if need be, to take a precious son and slay him on an alter in order to set the example of obedience to his creation. without obedience, the whole world falls apart into chaos and destruction.

imagine if your liver had free will. imagine if it decided to quit making bile. how would that effect the system of your body? or the mitochondria in a cell? what if it gave up the krebs cycle for a system of energy based on a slot machine because the thrill of a bunch of free energy was too enticing for it? eventually he will hit the jackpot, the other mitochondria see this and get interested, and soon they are all sitting around chain smoking and drinking cheap cocktails waiting for the big one to hit. that person is not going to run any marathons or write the next great novel.

there are many internal sacrifices we must make in this life. god bless all those who persevere to the end so that he can say, well done my good and faithful servant.
