How to play the game of dating?

I am cursed with being the nice guy and always get dumped. How can I avoid this without becoming an %¤#&!§-? Little by little I have began to have issues with women in general b/c of the ones that throw everything back in my face. I don't really understand dating... if you are a nice guy that can or will be there to support the other, you will get walked all over and if you are an %¤#&!§-they say you dont treat them right. Yet i hear girls say they want a nice guy and girls tell me I will be a great husband/partner/father but i seem to have a natural female repellant... I have trouble not being the nice guy cuz i tend to be extreme or the ways i go about being "difficult" tend to be overboard. Its like i pick the wrong time or topic to battle over or I go too far. I appreciate any comments or advice!
