Oh poo
Actually I wanted to use a much stronger word!
That article supports exactly the writing of Dr. Nara who is very embarrased by his profession. It's a business, pure and simple. And the ADA perpetuates the whole thing by their "Visit your Dentist every 6 months" rule.
I know people that positively freak as they sheepishly tell me they haven't been to a dentist for over a year! They rant..."I know I must go" with an embarrased squeak.
I always ask them if they have any problems with their teeth, any pain. They say no, but if they don't go they will have major problems that will cost them thousands of dollars and major pain. And the last time they went the dentist tells them they need a root canal, a cap, to replace their fillings....all these people with all these major problems and their fear is evident.
What can I say? When I do say something they look at me like I'm some poor misguided person. Not go to a dentist? Not even for a cleaning?
Sigh.
Dr. Nara has said that people that go to their dentist every six months end up with far fewer teeth at the end of thier life (like over 50%) than those that never ever go. Everytime they break into your enamel they are causing new cavities, and further costs to expense their new vacation home, their next trip to Europe with the family, their child's private school tuition.
Do I sound cynical? You better believe I am. I'm so bad that my commute buddy is demoralized. My commute buddies daughter is getting her PHd in dentistry in Australia, and she is funding her daughters education. Every morning and night I'm in the car with her for 30 minutes each. I have discussed so much of this natural health stuff with her that she recently did a
Liver Flush (she is 61) with very good results. We are friends. She is now Oil Pulling faithfully every day. We have talked about tooth remineralization, about dental fraud, about the PH of the mouth....we have discussed everything ad naseum. I tell her about the posts here on CZ. She and her husband are political refugees from El Salvador, her husband first imprisioned and later exiled. They know conspiracy, they lived it. Before her husband was exiled he was tortured by US Operatives. She thinks doctors are crooks and businessmen.
They wanted their kids to have a good education. Her daughter chose dentistry and is dating a PHd grad student in dentistry. Sometimes I wonder what she talks to her about, and what she thinks? I respect her privacy so I don't ask, but you know I'm dying to. I'm way to nosy.
We can regrow teeth like bones. They are like bones. We can make our gums healthy ourselves. We can keep our teeth for the rest of our lives. It just takes a bit of work, and a bit of knowledge.
We are so damn lucky.
