hairloss while mirena was inserted!!!

i had mirena placed in august 2007. immediately afterwards i noticed everytime i washed my hair, that patches of it was falling out. now the first time i though maybe that was normal considering i'd just had my baby 6weeks prior. then again i'd washed my hair several times before mirena was placed and never had that problem so i just blew it off. the second time i washed my hair, again large amounts just fell out. i decided to contact my obgyn and she stated that i should continue take prenatal multivitamins. so i did. that same week i washed my hair and so much came out that i made an urgent appointment with my doctor to have it removed!!! i lost so much hair that i cried just looking at my head. i talked to my doctor and everyone in the office who has it and of course they are all white women and stated that they didn't have a hair loss problem. then once i talked to the african american women whom i'd suggested have mirena because it's convenient all said that their hair ws coming out in patches. i suggest that the makers of mirena include this side effect in the literature that is provided to health care physicians because it is surely a problem!!!!!!!
