Re: Iodine added to milk.
Thanks, Trapper. The milk is for my Mum. It has taken me a year to convince her to stop drinking 1% milk. Don't think she will go to whole milk, but I'll keep trying. Told her about the study on 14,000 kids age 9-12, one group consuming 1% milk and yogurt, the other having full fat dairy for a year. The low fat group gained weight and the full fat group lost weight and had more energy for after school activities. Scientists said there are substances in the milk fat that support the thyroid. But this did not budge my mother. A month ago there was a story on the news about another study that showed the same thing. I said "See, didn't I tell you?" Finally, she said "Maybe I'll switch to 2%."
I don't drink milk anymore. I eat raw organic cheese. I will add the drops to the carton, but wondered about the wax being dissolved in the carton because iodine dissolves cholesterol and all waxes according to Jonathan Wright.
BTW I read about that huge dairy study on the weston a price website.
There was also a huge study conducted by the dairy industry on calcium that showed milk depletes calcium from the body. They covered that study up and never did another one. Something about the phosphorus content of milk being the enemy of calcium.
