The "Class 1" sounds to me what they call grade A here across the pond since usually the grade B they'll mention it that it suitable for cooking and flavoring. The syrup does not affect the cleansing action. It is to provide you with minerals and carbs to help you function while fasting, If you feel you wanna/need to add some minerals you can always do a tblsp or 2 of Blackstrap molasses.
