Re: Question Thick neck, goiter?
You are SO right! Grains and protein together: DON'T DO IT. Your body produces two difference agents for the digestion of breads AND meats - it cannot digest both together - it's why it takes FOREVER for them to digest and you feel so tired and lousy after eating a typical meat and bread sandwich. Even now if we crave spaghetti, we no longer put meat or cheese on it - we put JUST the tomato sauce on it! (We also now have spaghetti a whole lot less often, and only when we really have a craving for "carbs"). BTW, it's gluten-free pasta we consume, as well.
I've discovered that if I really miss the taste of a "good 'ol burger" I have to decide what about it am I craving?
If I'm craving the meat part, I have the burger, (NO cheese), tomato, onion, and lettuce (and mustard) on a big ol' slice of lettuce! It works!
If I'm craving the bread part, I have all those things but NO meat (or cheese) on a piece of Ezekiel bread, and that also works!
No ensuing "bloatage" - and I feel total satisfaction.
