Good question! I've only used chlorine and soap. I remember that CoffeeCup mentioned that she uses DE in the drier with her items to kill tough mites. Perhaps this is an effective methods for certain parasites.

Thinking out loud here, perhaps clean pillows by soaking in a solution of 35% H202, then dry with DE in the drier. This may help with maintaining the quality of pillows.
