I have CFS and was taking L-carnitine 500 mg and taking 3 when I started a new regime along with B-12 shots, amino acid, magnesium, NADH, potassium, and CLA. Then I ran out of the L-carnitine and went to GNC to get some more. The guy recommended the Acetyl L-carnitine 500mg over the L-carnitine so I bought it.
It seems that I only need 1 or 2 of the acetyls to do the same work and my muscular control, memory, speech, and overall health has improved. My memory has drastically improved over taking a brain dump 2 1/2 years ago. Short-term memory is much better.
I would say if you have the $$ to spend go ahead and get the acetyl because they are almost the same price anyhow. I think it has made a difference as that was the only vitamin that was changed.
