Yeah, that student tasering seemed to emcompass
more than a few agendas. The woman I saw last
night on CNN had to be taken to a hospital.
She could have been subdued by anyone, she was
already handcuffed and drunk.
This woman in the article was in a wheelchair...
hard to imagine they could not subdue her without
KILLING her~!
If a wild animal goes on the rampage, most times
wildlife officers are called in and they use a
dart gun that puts the animal out until they can
relocate it. They are not allowed to just KILL
the animal just because it is swimming in someone's
back yard pool or wandering in a grocery store.
They are *protected*.
I think humans need this kind of protection. Tasering
should be a last option, and not the first. There
are yahoo officers who seem to feel life is like a
video game and if they keep pushing the button they
WIN~! and no, one of my neighbors IS a law enforcement
officer so I am not anti-cop, but I am anti-tasering
since this is becoming a daily, if not weekly event,
that people are killed. The families, of these cases,
many domestic abuse, like the wheelchair bound woman,
regret ever calling the police for help. I imagine
that this woman's family feels really bad about their
choice to call.
I do not like feeling so *disposable*. Life is more
precious to me, even if someone is ranting like a
maniac, I would not be inclined to think he deserves
to die for those outbursts.
This also highlights the need for more awareness of
the side effects of drugs and alcohol and other
contaminants which contribute to people losing it.
They stand to lose their life if they step out of
the line and the police see them...or at least that
is the message I get from the real-life experiences
of people who did and without much fanfare, at the
repeated click of a taser, died.
blessings,
Zoe
