Four weeks ago my 6 month old became ill with a fever and diarrhea which persisted for weeks in spite of garlic in his milk, probiotics, elderberry syrup, kefir and yogurt, garlic enemas and poultices... everything we could think of. Then I and the other children became ill with the same symptoms. The stools had a lot of mucus and some blood. We also experienced painful lower intestinal cramping and low fevers.

Because of a dream my daughter had several months ago it occurred to me to try raw pumpkin seeds (I had no logical reason why) and sprinkled Oregano heavily in our food. All of us excepting the baby ate handfulls of pumpkin seeds and were over the "flu" in about 3-5 days.

My baby absolutely REFUSED to eat food. I pureed the pumpkin seeds with blue berries and bananas and kefir, tried them in his milk. Finally, after a couple of weeks of trying and failing, I decided to back up and start with graham crackers. He loved those, and within a few days was willing to eat the pumpkin seed mix. I also began shaking a pinch of Oregano in his bottle of milk. His stools firmed up and he is now completely well.

Last week we heard news that Salt Lake city had an outbreak of the parasite "Crypto" and the main symptom is diarrhea. It mostly effects small children. Most people overcome it with their immune systems within a few weeks, but babies and the elderly are more severely effected.

I believe we had the Crypto parasite...

I think the pumpkin seeds worked for us because they are known to immobilize parasites.
