I have something to say.
I hope to see less arguing - from anybody! No name calling, please. This will not be tolerated from anyone.
Fasters need encouragement - PERIOD.
However, having said that I would like to share something that concerns me personally.
ALL potential fasters should READ up on fasting.
THIS MEANS YOU! Whether you're 15, or 50, or 100!
PLEASE get educated on fasting before jumping in with both feet. There are good books on the subject from the likes of Shelton, Fuhrman, and Bragg.
If you are going to fast, I would hope you fast for health reasons FIRST, with weightloss being the "perk".
Something else I have noticed. People going into fasting having had that "last hurrah" of sandwiches, or cookies, or candy bars, before starting their fast.
This goes against everything that the specialists who monitor fasting teach! You need your intestines CLEAN before fasting. You want them clear so that you can actually detox properly during your fast! You don't want cookies or
Sugar or sandwich bread plugging you up. You want to be eating raw fruit and veggies before starting out so that detox is more easily achieved by your body.
Yes, you want a clean colon. You want an empty colon. You want to achieve and have excellent bowel movements BEFORE starting out!
Fasting is a rest for your digestive system. Why make the fast even more difficult when you start out?
Please get educated first. And THEN you can plan your fast accordingly.
Fasting is NOT to be taken lightly!
Monitor OUT!
