Addictions Free,
That is the most logical and understandable explanation I've ever read on the addiction question.
I'm not sure why, but in my experimentation with salt, during the past few days, anxiety of all kinds, disappeared...while still smoking.
(I suppose the fact that I was still smoking is an indication that I still felt anxious, to a degree.)
The suggestion to allow the skin to balance salt levels in body fluids, up or down, as needed, came from the book 'Water and Salt' as reported by Daisy4 in the Salt forum. (See the R messages.)
The protocol is to soak for 20 to 30 minutes in a bath of a 1% solution of Himalayan salt crystals. (Apparently the ONE PERCENT concentration is critical!)
What I did was to drastically reduce my usual salt intake, and to place a small pinch of 'Flowers of the Ocean' (or some such name) Celtic grey salt beneath my tongue...once in a day. I did also soak my feet in warm water containing the brand of Himalayan salt crystals I have, once each day for two days.
The only other changes I made were to...
...Eat mainly fresh vegetables coming out of our garden, mostly lightly cooked, and,
...Activate my 'aura' with a simple kinesiology move...passing my hands (with fingers wiggling) up the length of my torso and head, and down out to the sides.
I don't necessarily touch my torso.
After a while I may move my hands to my neck and head; over my kidney areas; or start the circuit at my toes...always drawing the energy upwards, and always moving my hands out to the sides on the downward pass.
I don't know which of these changes influenced the elimination of anxiety, but, I would stand on my head, naked, downtown, to be free from anxiety!
I will continue to experiment.
I hope something here helps others. Read in the Salt forum, and try the services of a kinesiologist because I am NOT an expert in any way.
My best,
Fledgling
