MoreThis is a reply to # 908,761after careful consideration(approx 26 seconds), i see huge benefit in this. it is congruent with many methodologies i am aware of. it is congruent with the bible. david picked his best fighting men by observing them drinking from a stream. the ones who kept their heads upright and cupped the water in their hands up to their mouths were his choice instead of those who exposed themselves to ambush by placing their heads down to the stream to drink from it. jacob used a rock to incline his head when he dreamed of the famous ladder with angels going up and down it. and the bible says god created man upright. i have a good friend who sleeps in a recliner and it has kept him alive when his health has been poor.
thanks for this tip. it is not worthy of note, it is worthy of practice.

MoreThis is a reply to # 908,840I have family who often sleep in their recliners and have claimed they get deeper rest there. When recovering myself, I found myself piling pillows to prop myself upright on a flat bed, over and over, through the years. I could not seemingly pile them high enough. I deeply respect instincts and intuitions of that kind. It was the one thing I liked about being in a hospital - the elevated head of the bed - I never lowered it.
And In fact I have been piling my pillows since I began iodine. I am going to pass this along. Thanks!- yes me too on raising my head to sle... lyn122

This is a reply to # 908,847I hadn't thought about it but I'm doing the same with my pillows since on iodine!
I saw my endo a few weeks ago and he suggested the same thing using telephone books under the bed feet. My complaint was some leg edema (which I then instead experimented with flax seeds). To the recyle bin pronto......out with the flax and in with the tellie books!
Also thinking of all the camping trips where I instinctively positioned the tent so there's a bit of slant under the bags.

This is a reply to # 908,883doing some review and noticed this gem of yours.
there is no place that is plumb(level) in nature except the surface of a glassy lake. and how does one sleep on the ground? with the slope starting at the head.
also, this is just another example of how getting well in a hospital is accomplished. the hydration from IV's, the Iodine slathered all over ones body before surgery, and now the inclination of the beds. it sure as hell aint the food(unless seen as a reason to fast!) or the drugs.
oh yes, the prayers and thoughts of those who love you. being sick just doesnt seem real to anyone else unless you are hospitalized.- Heads north? now south?? nutnberrygirl

This is a reply to # 909,686After researching this a bit on curezone, I understand that our heads need to be pointing south. At some point, we thought it was supposed to be north.
Can you confirm the direction?
I too like to have several pillows, one feather tucked under my neck and back. I also prefer to sleep on my right side. You know, if you sleep on your right side and face south, that would mean that you wake to the east with the sun rising. How cool. Especially with your bed inclined.
I have heard that women should sleep with the moon shining on them too. ?? Something about their cycles??
I may have to rearrange tonight!
