I will start at the beginning....
I was about 9 or 10 when I had my first mercury filling. Within about 2 years' time, I had 4 more. One was so large that it took up nearly half of my molar. It should have been a crown.
I distinctly remember that filling being placed because my uncle (my childhood dentist!) had to make a "form" for it, kind of like a form you'd make before pouring concrete for a patio or sidewalk.
I was sickly as a kid. I got strange and unusual illnesses and just generally didn't feel well most of the time. This continued through my 20s. In my 30s, I started to take better care of myself (eliminated junk food, started listening to my body, stopped eating lots of artificial sweeteners, managed stress better, etc.) and felt a lot better for the most part. I still got sick often but my energy was pretty high.
Fast forward to spring 2006. I got my very first cold sore outbreak, which was a doozie and lasted 3 weeks. Then, to my dismay, as soon as one outbreak cleared up, another outbreak started a fews days later.
In the fall, I started oil pulling. And every so often, I would have a metallic taste in my mouth. The ONLY other time I'd had that was when I was newly pregnant with my son (I had a very tough pregnancy, by the way). I was not pregnant this time, though.
My mom is a naturopath so I asked her about it. She said it was most definitely a symptom of mercury poisoning. Additionally, every single time she'd energy test me for one ailment or another, the root cause would come back as mercury poisoning from my fillings. I remember that this was definitely the case of the lip sores I was experiencing. I don't even know if they're cold sores at this point because they don't really LOOK like cold sores. My ex MD took a look at them and said they were "lip sores" brought on by a virus. ????
Anyway, I knew I had to get my fillings out. Finding a biological dentist took some time. I eventually found an incredible holistic dentist. This dental office was the first green business dentist in my region! That fact alone put me at ease and assured me that they would safely remove my fillings.
At my first appt we put together a game plan. This dentist will not do all replacements in one day; he likes to work by quadrant and recommends two weeks between each replacement appointment. I would have 4 replacements with composite and 1 crown. Total cost would be about $5,000 - YIKES! The good news is that my dental insurance should cover 50-80% of the work.
I had my first two removals 1.5 weeks ago. They used a dental dam, oxygen nasal mask, water spraying drill, and vacuum. They even change the ionic atmosphere (??? Can't remember the term they used) of the room they're doing the work in to protect the staff as well as the patient.
Before the work, I was taking chlorella but recently stopped because it was upsetting my stomach. I wasn't taking anything after the dental work was done... and then Wednesday I started to feel like I had the flu. I was bedridden all day yesterday. Upon my mom's advice, I started taking Cell Food and felt better almost immediately. Today I mostly felt back to normal!
My next filling replacement appointment isn't until August 12th.
Questions:
1) Metallic taste in the mouth is a common early pregnancy symptom. Could this be connected with mercury fillings? And, if so, why? I hope to have a better second pregnancy after all this dental work is finished.
2) Could my flu symptoms yesterday be from mercury toxicity?
3) Should I be doing anything else right now?
Thanks for reading this far!
