Is anyone using "UnShelled Brazil Nuts" as a source of Selenium. I was reading this article abt how Unshelled Nuts are best to consume. Always buy nuts in shells. Crack them and then eat them. Makes a lot of sense to me. This goes for other nuts as well, to increase their nutritional value. Almonds, Walnut,peanuts etc.
that is what the barefoot herbalist recommends as well. highonwater was posting not too long ago about lots more selenium in them than the already shelled ones. and even the organics now can be fumigated in storage with fluoride. those bastiges!
Oh no - organic nuts are being fumigated too? All kinds of shelled nuts? Does that mean organic nutbutters may be actually made from fumigated peanuts?
the more you do for yourself, the safer and more nutritious your food. not to mention, the more capable you are. and you tend to eat less, which is always good.

Wish I were more on point on this one, but this came to mind.
I wonder what is in those shells that may be of benefit. What if I ground them to powder and made a tea from them...... Twist of lime, a little gin and voila !
