What extreme? specifically.
What "danger"? specifically.
I believe we all have a right to know where you are coming from on this "danger of extremes". These "extremes" to which you are alluding so strongly would have saved my grandmother from having both her breasts carved off her precious body (she had no 'mental disturbance' she had tumors the size of oranges); they're saving me from the same possible fate; they're saving hundreds (if not thousands) of women already...and the word is just getting out. But it seems like you're somehow 'against' these victories? People off toxic thyroid medicine; heart arrhythmias & attacks being stopped & prevented; fibrocystic breast disease and countless painful, life destroying diseases are being eradicated because of doses higher than a few drops a week. Yet you seem intent on warning people of the danger of this extreme??
>>Lugol himself would wince after reading some of this outlandishness.<<
Really? I didn't know you'd met Mr.
Lugol (lol...see below information)
What outlandishness (again specifically, please) are you speaking of? During Dr. Jarvis' time (and before) physicians were curing people of asthmatic/bronchial disease and heart issues with doses in the 1-5/6 gram range.
Regarding your comment about Mr.
Lugol wincing:
>>Dr. Abraham started this
Iodine Project around 1998 when he became aware of the many benefits of treating patients with
Iodine using doses far beyond the 2 mg a day, which most physicians consider to be potentially toxic. He noted that starting in the 1820s, the French physician Jean
Lugol used these higher doses to treat a wide variety of conditions.<<

>>The Lugol solution was developed by French physician, Jean Lugol in 1829, for treatment of infectious diseases using oral ingestion of his preparation...The recommended daily amount of Lugol was 0.1-0.3 ml, containing 12.5-37.5 mg elemental iodine.<<

>>Only 8 years after the discovery of
Iodine from seaweed by French chemist Bernard Courtois in 1811, Swiss physician J.F. Coindet who previously used successfully burnt sponge and seaweed for simple goiter, reasoned that iodine could be the active ingredient in seaweed. In 1819, he tested tincture of iodine at 250 mg/day, in 150 goiter patients with great success. He published his results in 1820. (14) Coindet was the first physician to use the newly discovered element iodine in medical practice. Since then, the collective experience of a large number of clinicians from the US over the last century has resulted in the recommended daily amount of 0.1 to 0.3 ml of Lugol, containing from 12.5 to 37.5 mg elemental iodine, for iodine/iodide supplementation. >>According to Hungarian Nobel Laureate Szent-Györgyi,
KI was the universal medicine in Europe during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Szent-Györgyi himself ingested 1 gm of
KI [postassium iodide[ daily to keep himself fit. [12]<<

~~~ I doubt that Mr. Lugol would have winced to learn that a world renowned researcher, scientiest and Nobel Laureate found that a gram a day kept him fit. I also doubt that Mr. Lugol would have winced to learn that millions of people have been cured from horrendous illness & disability by utilizing his discovery in doses over what Dr. Jarvis recommended. Maybe I'm wrong, but if most any of us had discovered/created a solution that could cure the world of cancer, I doubt I'd be doing much wincing.
>>Yet the prevailing medical community thinks anything above 2 mg a day is toxic. Why? In the 1820s a French physician, Jean Lugol, combined elemental iodine (5%) and potassium
Iodide (10%) with 85% water. Doses were higher than 2 mg and many people had wonderful results in treating infections and thyroid conditions (2 drops is about 12.5 mg).<<
I'm thinking & realizing that you/Dr. Jarvis "agree" with the 'prevailing medical community' and allopathic medicine?
I'm/we're all VERY aware that Dr. Jarvis was an extremely moderate 'doser'...but we are ALL (yourself included) also very aware that his world was not bombarded with toxic halogens & heavy metals, nor did one of every seven/eight women in his world develop breast cancer.
Many of us on Curezone have done months worth of research to prove to ourselves that iodine supplementation carries EXTREMELY small risks (if any) but an extreme POSITIVE potential to cure ourselves & loved ones. We've looked, debated, researched and read information to ASSURE ourselves that we can safely and effectively utilize this for ourselves and recommend it to our dearest friends and beloved family members (most of who are DESPERATELY in need of some type of cure which iodine can provide).
If you're going to continue posting things like this, I feel very passionately that you have an obligation to back up your thoughts & opinions with clinical evidence and proof of your statements. People's lives are on the line. If there's a "danger of extremes", PLEASE tell us exactly what "extreme" is, and what you mean by "danger".
Without that information, your words seem more like they're 'defending your position' (or the works Dr. Jarvis) than they seem like true concern for those who are sick, in pain, or dying of cancer. It seems you saying that a "high dose" (whatever you think that is) is more dangerous than the diseases that result from being iodine deficient.
