I have been a herpes sufferer for twenty years and until my current streak had never gone more than four months without an outbreak, usually less. My outbreaks lasted from ten days to two weeks and were often accompanied by very big swelling around the penis, blisters, and bad flu-like symptomes for at least a couple of days. I often did well after a fast or
Liver Flush but the OBs always came back with a vengeance. The good news is that I've been outbreak free for ten months and counting. The not so great news is that my solution is big pharma - namely, aciclovir. I get it over the counter here in Thailand where I live now and I take one 400 milligram tablet almost every day.
I now drink too much coffee, eat nuts every day, and often chocolate as well. I will admit that I may have had an outbreak about a month ago because of a three-day perfect storm of bed bugs in two hotels on different continents and a canceled flight that meant I had to spend a night at an airport. I basically got almost no sleep for three nights. The usual area turned that telltale red color and there was a hint of puffiness but no flu symptoms or pain. There was a bit of tingling. I simply took three tablets the day I noticed it and I was so sure it was gone that I didn't even take a tablet the following day.
I would rather not have to rely on big pharma, and I have no idea if I'm doing some sort of harm to my liver or kidneys by taking aciclovir every day, but I am so glad to be free of OBs!
I recently started doing pushups again. In the past, every time I got to a certain number I'd have an outbreak, but not this time. Now I'm confident that I can do something I've always wanted to do - 50 pushups at one go.
I hope I haven't broken any rules of this forum or offended anyone by posting that the product of a huge phama company ishelping me, but I feel it's worth the risk because I want you all to know about this. BTW, the stuff I use is a brand manufactured in Thailand. Most of the drugstores in Bangkok only sell the expensive stuff but here in Chiang Mai I can get it cheap.
