USP is simply another test provided by the 'big boys'...one has to go through all the proper registrations, massive paperwork, paying of fees, and other folderol to be labeled with the "official" label of USP purity.

As I understand it, ALL chemicals that are ACS/Reagent would 'test out' to be USP grade...they just haven't jumped through all of the painstaking/money grabbing/fear mongering 'hoops' that "earn" them the label of USP.

I have read several places (but I didn't bookmark them, sorry) that if one utilizes the proper ratio/recipe, uses only pure 'additives' and uses ACS/Reagent chemicals, whatever it is, WILL BE "USP GRADE"...but if you don't 'jump through all the hoops', it can't be "certified" or claim to be USP grade.

When I checked on the MSDS on this one, it looks perfect to me. I'll be ordering a large quantity soon (everything of importance is exactly the same as the MSDS for the MedEx Lugols).

I know I didn't explain this 'technically perfect', but I'm pretty sure I understand the basics of it all correctly. I'm sure enough that those that depend upon me for their health (and Lugol's) will be getting this from Ricca (along with myself).
