Contemplating this idea, appreciate your opinions/comments.
Q1 : Will alcohol tinctures of herbs be effective for parasite cleanse?
Q2 : Will it be more effective than the fresh herbs we have now?
Q3 : Alcohol tinctures is fast acting, read that 30% of alcohol gets absorbed immediately into bloodstream upon consumption. This will bypass some of the digestive track. Also, less alcohol will be available for downstream processing in the intestines/colon. But this approach changes the mode of action of the herbs which we've been using. It might be helpful.
Q4 : Safe dosage could be a problem for some dangerous herbs. Need help of herbalist on this.
Making alcohol tinctures are easy & cheap for some countries.
- Find the strongest grain alcohol (Everclear brand), which is 190-proof or 90% alcohol.
- Grind/chop the fresh/dried herbs as finely as possible, powder is best.
- Weigh the fine herbs & calculate the required volume of alcohol.
- Immerse herbs in alcohol, stored in tight glass container.
- Gently stir the container everyday
- Tincture is ready after 4-6 weeks. Time of immersion is greatly dependant on strength of alcohol, size of herbs, moisture of herbs etc.

That said; TCM has simmered these same herbs for a few thousand years without alcohol...

This is a reply to # 846,151One of my friends (retired 75 year old TCM physician) told me once, in the old days, herbs brewing is very time consuming. All the herbs in a recipe are not added all at once (like what people are doing now) but requires a constant observation to add different herbs at specified times.
Baby-sitting a medicine pot!

This is a reply to # 846,167Lots of unknowns here… First you are correct they do add them at different times but they also add certain herbs to help extract others, so maybe this was their way to do it.
Anyhow most formulas are now sold in pill form, the concoction is cooked for hours/days then freeze dried and rolled into little balls.

very bitter bitters...do you mean "stong/potent" or bitter in taste?
Sounds brilliant either way. I suppose this can be done w Betel nut capsules also??
Can't help but wonder how the Chinese are/were doing it...I'd love to lose the alcohol. I can almost get "drunk" from these tinctures sometimes it seems.

This is a reply to # 846,185The only two I have taken in both forms are Wormwood and Silica.
The Wormwood in tinctures seems to be more potent in the bloodstream while the powder seems to work better in the intestines. But I can't really swear on that.
The Silica is a different story, the tincture is Horsetail&Nettle and leaves concentrated Silica (expensive) pills in the dust so to say :)

I've read a gazillion times, stated at least 100 - tinctures are remarkably more effective. The lit I read never proposed any exclusions, tho could be the case.
Tincures are the only way to go, IMO. (When possible)- It's a shame that alcohol is soo... ... kocc6ny2

This is a reply to # 846,293Build a small still. You can order the glass head from the internet then stuff it with steel wool and off you go. Some yeast some grains a little time and heat then bottle your moonshine (be careful it’s +80% alcohol). Now you can jell it to use as instant hand disinfectant, throw out all that wood alcohol (methanol) crap and even use it to make tinctures like Green Hulled Black-Walnut …
