Iodine helps the thyroid. Candida causes a lot of havoc in thyroid functions, which in turn causes an extra need of iodine. Many of us suffer from low or hyperthyroid - with the hormonal disbalance this involves (anxiety, panic attacks) - Iodine was also really helpful for me in soothing the thyroid issues.

I also like to use topical Iodine on hives, it works real well.

I honestly don't know, but I would not be suprised. About 10 years ago one of the major pharamcutical companies came out with a cold remedy ...a pill...that was AMAZING and guess what it was....PURE IODINE! They wound up having to pull it because the FDA wanted more testing done on it than the company wanted to pay. It was really a miracle remedy for cold symtpoms and it did NOT prolong the virus like all the other cold remedies tend to do!Seeing as how the die off FEELS like a virus I guess Iodine would work the same way for that.
