black is the author of "internal combustion - how corps and the gov got us addicted to oil and killed the alternatives"

its a VERY thoroughly researched book and contains the best documented and most fascinating account of how we became addicted to oil i have ever heard.

he talks of a secret pact between edison and ford to manufacture an electric car, and how the big oil compannies conspired to kill off the project, culminating in the burning of edison's lab to the ground.

he also talked about how Genetically-Modified sold the vehicles to nazi germany that they used for the blitzkrieg. and not only that but they continued to sell them vehicles the ENTIRE WAR!! the profits were held in escrow during the war, and then after the war ended, they recovered every penny!

and he goes into the plan to destroy the electric trolley cars, and how the feds eventually prosecuted automotive officials for secretly funding the destruction of the trolleys. the trolley were bought up by a front company funded by big oil, and literally torn apart piece by piece.

if you get a chance, watch this. it was on CSPAN II book TV, and they often re-run these things. i think i will get this book.
