there are two things you can do. one is give your oil antifungal properties by adding some oregano oil to the mix. the second thing is using an oil that has antifungal(candida) properties naturally, such as coconut oil.

I see this is an old post, but thought this might be of intereste to you.

I began the oil pulling and Iodine protocols around the same time and a few weeks later I developed a rash on my face, kind of a excema-like rash, where the top layers flake off. I did a bit of reading on this to discover what it might be and it most likely sounds like candida, and this fits, as i had a bout of vaginal thrush which flared up at the same time and the pair have been with me since. Its coming up on 2 months now...

Now i've not had this happen (vaginal thrush)for a few good years, at least, not this bad. I had a similar face rash, although on other side of the face - exact mirror though - when i had thrush in 2002.

Either the oil pulling with olive oil (i didnt realise you weren't supposed to use it!! oops!, didn't have any of the other oils, so just used that for a couple of weeks til i got the others) or Iodine did it, i have continued with Iodine - but stopped for a weeks break this past week though and no change in the rash. I have since changed oils also, from peanut to sunflower to sesame and no change in the rash. The vaginal thrush was still super itchy and there until i got my period last week and its subsided since then, but still a little tender, no insane itching though.

The only other thing which might have done it, was the weekend before the rash appeared, was I attended a music festival and ate crap food for the weekend and drank cider and didn't have great elimination. So a backed up system could have caused it too, but i've had a backed up system on and off for the last few years, and no bouts of thrush/facial rashes, so not entirely convinced on that one.

Either way, the darn rash is STILL hanging around. I was thinking also that it could be a detox reaction, i.e. the return of thrush was just that it'd been lurking and now as my body was getting rid of it, it was more noticeable with the itch etc. So to read that oleic acid can induce bacterial growth is quite interesting! No more olive oil for me without a liberal dose of oregano!

I'm getting my Colloidal Silver unit back this weekend and am going to blast the critters with some of that til its all DEAD :) and i'm itch and rash free!
