Ingredient Explanation
Spirulina Blue-Green Algae- Spirulina is one of the world's most concentrated nutritious foods on the planet. It is the highest natural source of complete protein (75%). Spirulina has 20 times as much protein as soybeans grown on an equal-sized area of land. Spirulina contains concentrations of nutrients unlike any other single grain, herb, or plant. It contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), linolenic and arachidonic acids, essential amino acids, iron, the nucleic acids RNA and DNA, chlorophyll, and phycocyanin, a blue pigment that is found only in the blue-green algae that has increased the survival of mice with liver cancer in laboratory experiments. The high amount of sunshine there makes this spirulina higher in Beta Carotene than any other. It is also a rich source of B-Vitamins, especially B-12. Spirulina is a naturally digestible food that aids in protecting the immune system, in cholesterol reduction, and mineral absorption. Grown using water pumped from 2000 feet deep in the ocean, this spirulina is one of the richest sources of minerals also. One of the oldest types of algae, it has a soft cell wall for easy digestion and elimination.
Alfalfa, Barley, and Kamut Grasses- These are the Vitamin/Mineral herbs. They are mildly cleansing and the greatest sources of nutrition of any grasses. Grain grasses are more potent than the grains themselves, offering us a rich array of vitamins, minerals, and chlorophyll. Alfalfa is one of the most mineral-rich foods known. Alfalfa has roots that grow as much as 130 feet into the earth. It contains calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, plus ALL known vitamins. The minerals are in a balanced form which promotes absorption. These minerals are all ALKALINE, but have a neutralizing effect on the intestinal tract. Barley is high in calcium, iron, all the essential amino acids, chlorophyll, flavanoids, vitamin B-12, Vitamin C, and many minerals, plus enzymes. Kamut wheatgrass contains a variety of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. According to Dr. Ann Wigmore, an educator and founder of the Hippocrates Health Institute in Boston, 1 pound of fresh wheat grass is equal in nutritional value to nearly 25
pounds of the choicest vegetables.
Purple Dulse Seaweed- Purple Dulse Seaweeds are the richest source of assimilable minerals on the planet. They contain all the minerals and trace minerals that are found in the ocean and in the earth's crust.
Dandelion- Dandelion is considered one of the five most nutritious vegetables on earth. Popeye may have gotten strength from spinach, but dandelion has twice the vitamin B1 of that vegetable and six times the iron and four times the B2 of iceberg lettuce. It contains 40 percent more vitamin C than tomatoes, 20 percent more beta-carotene than carrots, and more calcium than milk. One hundred grams of dandelion leaves provides 14,000 IU of pro-vitamin A, whereas carrots provide 11,000. At only 45 calories per 100 grams, these generous greens are also a rich source of iron, manganese, and phosphorus. Choline, the member of the B complex that helps to prevent fat buildup in the liver, is also present.
Kelp- Kelp is 28% minerals by weight, and includes a large number of trace minerals. Kelp is a good source if vitamin C, Pantothenic Acid, Zinc and Copper, and a very good source of Vitamin K, Riboflavin, Folate, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium and Manganese.
Irish Moss- Irish moss is a nutritional super star. Irish moss contains vitamins A, C, D, E and K, vitamins B1 and B2 and is a source of B12. Irish moss contains many elements essential to the human body. Irish moss contains a high content of iodine, calcium, manganese, zinc, bromine, iron and protein and contains significant amounts of calcium and magnesium.
Blue Violet- Blue Violet Leaf contain large amounts of rutin, which has earned a reputation in the holistic approach as an anti-cancer herb mainly through its blood purifying ability. Rutin is a citrus bioflavanoid - a natural substance found in plants, fruits, vegetables, nuts, bark, and buckwheat. Citrus Bioflavonoids help protect capillaries, prevent bruising, and intensify the effect of vitamin C in the body. In fact, Bioflavonoids are essential for total vitamin C effectiveness.
Oat Straw- Highly nutritive and supportive of the nervous system, Oat Straw helps build healthy bones, skin, hair and nails. Oat Straw is one of the best remedies for "feeding" the central nervous system, especially when under stress. It is considered a specific in cases of nervous debility & exhaustion, especially when associated with depression. The primary chemical constituents of Oat Straw includes saponins, flavonoids, starch, alkaloids (trigonelline, avenine), calcium, iron, B vitamins, lysine, and methionine.
Cayenne Pepper- Cayenne is the greatest herbal aid to circulation. This powerhouse herb will help every other ingredient in this formula get to the organs and cells that need it, fast!
Carrot Root- Carrots are nutritional heroes, they store a goldmine of nutrients. No other vegetable or fruit contains as much carotene as carrots, which the body converts to vitamin A. They are rich in antioxidants Beta Carotene, Alpha Carotene, Phytochemicals and Glutathione, Calcium and Potassium, and vitamins A, B1, B2, C, and E, which are also considered antioxidants, protecting as well as nourishing the skin. They contain a form of calcium easily absorbed by the body. Finally they also contain Copper, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorous.and Sulphur
Ginger Root- Ginger is most commonly known for its effectiveness as a digestive aid. By increasing the production of digestive fluids and saliva, Ginger helps relieve indigestion, gas pains, diarrhea and stomach cramping. Ginger's anti-inflammatory properties help relieve pain and reduce inflammation associated with arthritis, rheumatism and muscle spasms. Ginger's therapeutic properties effectively stimulate circulation of the blood, removing toxins from the body, cleansing the bowels and kidneys, and nourishing the skin. Other uses for Ginger Root include the treatment of asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory problems by loosening and expelling phlegm from the lungs.
Beet Root- Beets is one of the richest, most assimilable sources of organic iron. Beets, being a root vegetable and growing underground, change inorganic raw elements into plant minerals that are usable by us. An exellent blood builder.
Rose Hips - Revered as some of the best sources of Vitamin C, Rose Hips is also a balanced complex source. It contains bioflavonoids, rutin, hesperidin, malic acid, and calcium, and all of the trace elements that are now known to be necessary to assimilate Vitamin C.
NON-Active Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Nutritional Yeast- This yeast is grown on beets and molasses. It is the second highest source of complete protein in nature(50%), and the richest source of B Vitamins. It is also a rich source of iron, phosphorus and many other minerals. This yeast is heated high enough to absolutely destroy any yeast activity, but not high enough to lessen the B Vitamin content. It is totally NON ACTIVE and safe for patients with Candida Albicans oron yeast free diets.
