Day one for me!
Having completed an epic four year colon cleansing odyssey which included very long fasts (60 days two years ago)... it is time for some maintenance. I just got over the first cold I have had in 2-1/2 years and am determined to completely flush any remaining mucous from my system.
Mucous featured big in the problems I had packed into my intestines over the years--old mucous hardened into truck tire rubber, then other weird gunk attached to that, then more old mucous sandwiched it, leaving me with many many layers of toxic waste which took me, amazingly, four years of hard work to evacuate!
For the longest time I was actually unaware that I was carrying this burden--I simply thought I was fat! I unloaded about 25 lbs. of garbage out of my colon, and have a flat stomach for the first time in years.
Among the myriad benefits gained from these years of effort (it is work), my sinuses have remained absolutely clear as a bell until this cold hit me a month ago. For years I had constant congestion and drainage (I blamed it on the dust where I live), and have really come to appreciate clarity! I am confident that a ten day cleanup will put me back on the right track.
It is amazing how many things--congestion, joint pain, hard periods just to name a few--I used to accept as part of "the aging process". Since unloading all that trash these problems are history, and I plan to keep it that way!

Thanks for posting this. You all are sooooo incredibly supportive and encouraging. To those of us who are so new at this, it is truly inspiring to read of those who have persevered and won!
I, too, have sinus probs and bronchial infections result. Joint pain--oh, yes. And so much else that I am positive will improve greatly with a concerted effort to cleanse my body.

MoreThis is a reply to # 743,970Yes! It takes perseverance, but you CAN unload the toxins from your body. Radiant good health (and limitless energy) is the reward! I am looking very much forward to that clean, clear, light feeling at the end of this cleanse.
Don't forget to look into the liver flush, if you haven't already done so. No other single procedure made a bigger difference in my health, including all the mega fasts I did to cleanse my colon. Again it takes patience--2 weeks between flushes is recommended and it took me about 5 to unload a big load of gunk--but I completely lost the "adult acne" that had plagued me for years, and my digestion has never been better! Simple, cheap and amazing.

First of all, thank you! I am on day 8 of the MC. I nearly quit almost every evening these last few days. I'm craving food big time, even though I am not necessarily hungry. Making dinner for my boys triggers these feelings! But I've hung in there and was looking to just chug my way to 10 days (though I wanted to do 21 or 30). Your recent messages have inspired me again and I am *considering* extending back to the 21 day time frame.
But my question is about liver flushes. As a big time sufferer of adult acne (and someone who grew up exposed to dioxin *big time* from living next to Love Canal) I know I need to do a liver flush. My friend did one that did not involve epsom salts and I've not been able to find the protocol for it. It involved lots of apple juice with something added (phosphorus??) and then the olive oil drink. Have you seen anything like this?

This is a reply to # 744,136You betcha! Go to sensiblehealth.com and read up on her apple juice protocol.
I have done many liver flushes, with and without epsom. The epsom relaxes the bile ducts and helps you to pass the gunk, perhaps more important during the first flushes when things are packed very tightly in the GB and ducts.
I never use epsom any more, and only occasionally do the apple juice, which contains an acid which helps to dissolve old bile, again probably more important for first flushes.
As you MC, you will notice you pass a lot of colored water. This will be bile. The liver produces like a quart of bile daily, and we need to keep this flowing. It helps digest fats, and acts as a lubricant for the intestines, among other things. If we have stones in the ducts or gallbladder that back this up, we can have quite a bit of stale bile stored, and at times in the Master-Cleanse I have passed some pretty amazing quantities of amazing colors!
The Liver Flush can be a miracle for Acne sufferers. I cannot believe I have had not one sign of trouble since I passed that major load of stones. I do maintenance flushes from time to time, and my skin is amazing!
Another thing. The traditional flush uses olive oil and grapefruit juice. I am pretty good at swallowing vile mixtures after four years of heavy cleansing... but there can be nausea with some flushes (the better flushes, I believe), and reflux of the oil and juice mixture. The taste of the oo/gj exacerbated the nausea for me... so I tried a different mixture.
My current fave is Hain cold pressed walnut oil and fresh orange juice. I use 1/2 cup of each, chilled and shaken well together. You drink this just before lying down to bed, and immediately lay on your right side for at least an hour for best effect. After this time the flush has pretty much taken place and you can turn over.
I have had nausea in the night or next day, but always pass amazing things. It does take patience-as I say I flushed about 5 times with 2 weeks between before getting the Big One-- but SO worth the effort!

Like I say, Hain cold pressed walnut oil and OJ have been a great mixture for me. I love olive oil on my salad, but belching it all night combined with grapefruit (not my fave) is too much for me.
It IS well worth finding the right flush and keeping at it til you get the gunk out!

This is a reply to # 744,087YES! I did a Liver-Flush before starting this cleanse, and will do another after I'm done.
I told Zoe and Tiffany that I had done one years ago after finding out I had gallstones. It worked--but I didn't KNOW that. My husband was deploying overseas, and we have 2 young kids: I was totally and absolutely terrified of that pain coming back and being alone in the house w/ the kids. (believe me, it's the worst thing possible, except for burns. I'd MUCH rather have a baby). So I had the surgery--and the surgeon was totally amazed, 'cause my gb was EMPTY--not a single stone (and there had been lots on the ultrasound). :-( So I KNOW it works.
This last time not much happened, but I'm sure the stuff is moving from my liver and will eventually come OUT.

My partner recently had an attack of acute pancreatitis, caused they believe by congestion in the gallbladder. Of course they wanted to whack out the GB!
Of course we didn't go for it! He has done four LFs now, and will continue until he passes the mother lode. His digestion is excellent after the four flushes... you are right, it DOES work!
Ah, but they do love to cut out that gallbladder!

Dear Somer..:))).... I am joining u tomorrow!!.. I think I will be honored to be with u on the same boat, dear, and also have here such gurus in this field like Zoe, Hopinso, Tiffany and another experienced ppl in this field and not that much experienced ones..:))... I was and is conserned about the situation with my poss candida.. and I had some discussions about that issue with Zoe.. So she thinks that up to 10 days should have been all right..:))

I think you and I have talked about the candida. What are your current symptoms that make you believe you have yeast problems?
I really feel that if you have a yeast issue you should fast on the green juices of fresh vegetables. The Sugar in the maple is perfect food for the yeast. A small amount of green apple juice is also fine, and be sure to include fresh ginger root, very good for candida.
