i recently went to a whole foods market and purchased some wheat grass pwoder. I hear it is very good for us, since the chlorophyll and all.. how would you take wheatgrass? Is it even worth my 2 dollars? :) thanks

MoreThis is a reply to # 720,466I believe I have read on this forum that MH thinks wheatgrass is a very good thing... I can't quote him. To get all the health benefits, it should be juiced or eaten within 7 minutes of harvast. The easiest and cheapest way is to grow it yourself. I just started growing it at home recently. Organic wheatberries are not expensive or difficult to grow. There are websites that sell the berries, growing trays and medium (soil or soiless). I'm growing some for my cat too! Ann Wigmore's Wheatgrass book is a great place to start.

This is a reply to # 720,465I would suggest taking your kitchen and throw away everything. Stock up some planters to grow wheat grass and you have one of the best foods you will find. The dry grass is better than anyother dead thing you can buy to eat.
We humans are more grass eaters than we would like to think.
If you look at our blood you will not find much differance between us the average fish, other than we learned how to walk under the sun and not dehydrate.

This is a reply to # 720,474I put the grass and weeds in a blender with distilled water. Then strain and then put through a natural coffee filter. Then add enough whole maple syrup to make taste GREAT, it one of the finest drinks fit for a king.
Powder is best if dissolved in your mouth and swallowed very slowly.
VERY CHEAP to grow your own right in the house in a flower planter.

This is a reply to # 720,487You are far better off to go to the yard, cut some grass, wash it and juice it and drink it. It does not store long, it is best drank within 7 minutes. The stuff in the herb store is basically minerals and little else.

This is a reply to # 720,494Hey, if eating grass or whatever will be good for my intestines, liver, skin or whatever, then im willing to do it! Is there anything that could possibly be harmful to the body with eating the grass in my yard? As a kid, I always thought of eating grass; i thought i was just being crazy. Maybe nature inside me wanted me to be one with her... Too bad the society we live in does not approve of it, or I probably would of been a much happier person.

This is a reply to # 720,495i wholeheartedly suggest you grow your own specifically to eat like any garden veggie. use a good clean medium and feed the plants like you would yourself, with distilled water and organic fertilizer. most grass you see in yards is weeded and feeded to the point of being too toxic to even consider eating. a semi-sheltered window box would be even better, protecting the plants from the nasty particles which precipitate out of the polluted air we breathe. garbage in - garbage out!
