That is the year I was born. Thank God my mom didn't think I was too much trouble financially to have. My dad was 17 and my mom was 17. I'm glad they didn't realize the "reality" of the situation they were in and decide to do me in. They are very well to do now. My dad is doing extremely well. It is not right to think young people or a young person can't take care of a baby or that they will fail. My parents had their ups and downs but they made the best of it. Then they had my brother a year later. Having us didn't hold them back at all! The only thing that was hard on them was their own families judging them for being young. But they made it. That is what life is all about. Trying your best no matter what situation comes your way.

You seemed to be making much about the "coincidence" that you were born in the same years as Roe v Wade and that your parents thus might have chosen not to have you. But your parents could have chosen not to have you even in 1973. Plus, many young parents choose to become parents even now in 2006 despite the fact that they could seek an abortion. There's probably a lot you don't even know about them (like lot's of financial assistance from their peeps, perhaps?) The economy was also booming by the early 70's.
My point is DEFINITELY not everyone has the Leave-It-To-Beaver scenario with "well to do" parents. Good for them!
So what's your point?

God knows the difference, my kids know the difference, my husband, my parents, my family, my cat...they all are here because of me and I'm here because of them. See? Life is not perfect but it's life and I got to live it and I'm greatful!

This is a reply to # 708,669hahaha leave it to beaver scenario. My dad worked hard and my mom took care of us. It was a struggle. Sometimes we had to live with different family members. There was no assistance from the "peeps" as you put it. It was us. well to do...hahahaha! Good one! I said NOW they are. Not then.
