The only sure fire way I know to approach weight loss and keepin off the weight is realizing that obesity is not a thing in and of it self and just the manifestaion of many possible causes and that it is a "health Issue". Succesful weight/health maintenace requires a lifestyle change and it's not about portions or calorie counting but about what and the quality of what you eat.
You can't go wrong with a mostly raw diet and probably the single greatest thing you can do for your health is to buy a juicer and start doing veggie juices everyday. One of the most overlooked things in any diet is the addition of healthy fats (EFA essential Fatty Acids) this is specialy true of vegetarian diets. So read up on EFAs. Check out Barleans.com or udoschoice for lots of info. I supplement with at least 2 tblsp of flax see oil daily and when I find it on sale I use Udos Choice which is a better balanced oil blend. I also use Olive oil on my salads almost daily. Another biggie that hardly ever gets discussed is water!! Drink 1/2
oz of water per lb of body weight daily.
Last but certainly not least is >>>>regular<<<< exercise which is another one of those things seldom mentioned here. I ain't talking walking the dog and cleaning up after the kids either. I'm talking some kind of resistance training that will build some muscle. Muscle burns more fat.
It's gonna take time and educating yourself and experimenting to find out what works best for you and your lifestyle. There's lots of info on the internet and tons of books.
