Honestly, hypglycemics do NOT have to eat every 2 hrs, too. I thought that, too. Hypoglyemia is not a real "sickness", just easily controlled with diet. It is great to fas---I have horrible candida and hypoglycemic symptoms, and even get blurry vision, and I fast like crazy and always feel the best ever.
I agree that low-glycemic is a great safeguard BUT the body reacts differently to raw sugars.
2 points that make life interesting:
1)Cancer and candida have been proven to be pretty much one and the same. John Hopkins discovered this in the 70's. If you have candida, which most have, it will evolve into a killer, which most get, at some point. That is why people like us are on the ball and get rid of it. SUGAR also FEEDS CANCER. Norman Walker, Lorraine Day, and even a Dr. I know all cured their cancer eating high-glycemic foods, whether it's quarts of carrot juice or just whole fruits, any fruit they want. This would
not be possible if the body didn't react to natural sugars differently. This disputes the theory that carrot juice feeds candida, etc. Or even OJ, which NEVER spikes me, and I can drink
2) Natural Hygienist(note: watch out! ;-) Doug Graham has been very successful taking long-term candida patients who have tried cutting out every sugar for forever and had it not work, and healing them by putting them on VERY LOW fat, like nothing, and as much fruit as they want. They report being healed.
Now, I am not saying I disagree with Livingwater, though. We are all so different, and candida is what we "focus" on, or symptoms of "hypoglycemia", but the sad truth is, we all have lots of unknown parasites, MANY different bacteria and fungi.... my friend has struggled with candida FOR FOREVER, like me. Imagine her surprise to find out she really had LYMES, which was more prevalent. 1 out of 2 people have Lymes, they estimate! So, my point is, you'll know really quick if OJ doesn't work for you. If you are concerned, stay low-glycemic if you want, probably not a bad move, just to be sure. Make some medium-glycemic and green-based drinks, perhaps. You know your body better than any poster. I don't do much honey or dates, I can feel myself "spike", still, BUT fruit juices never affect me. Do I know how they are intereacting with my critters, though? No, I can't be certain of that. Unfortunately, the concrete answers we all love to see just don't exist in this world. But healing DOES exist and you are well on your way. This is why it is called a process!
After all your colon cleansing, please don't load up on animal products to get all that "protein" they tell you you need (The Low-Blood Sugar Handbook, etc). It'll undo everything you've worked hard to accomplish. All of that nutrition advice is conventional b.s, too. Greens are the highest source of protein, period. Make green smoothies when you break your fast, etc. They are an ideal food!
