It would be good to get a scale if you can. With that...you will realize results
a little sooner, but let me tell you...I started walking Thursday morning...and
so far...I've only gotten in 3 miles each day...but I'm also doing the waistline
twist during some of it...and I can tell, through my midriff..I am already tightning up.
Now, the walking isn't that hard...I'm walking during tv programs that will interest
me. And that's the hardest thing of it all...to find tv programs that interest me
to walk during...because I'm just not a tv watcher. A little tv in the evening
is enough for me. And the only reason I haven't gotten in 5 miles each day, is
because I've been so busy with some unexpected church work...and too, my life is
just very full...and I just don't have much free time. But I'll be making time for
those 2 extra miles starting tomorrow. (Monday)
Be sure and walk fairly fast...if you can...find a clock with a second hand and
walk for one minute and count your steps...you need to learn to get in at least
120 steps a minute...or more...120 steps in one minute is about 3mph. Then pick
up your speed if you can...off and on during the walk.
I'm not on any special diet. I'm really just eating like we normally do. And
I've been cutting out my chocolate treat in the evening. That's really all I've
done differently...except the walking. My normal daily calorie intake is only
about 1,200 to 1,800 calories a day...and I lean towards the lower end most days...
We got the idea to do this because I was reading on the Leslie Sansone website
(Walk Away The Pounds)...and on one of the testimonials a lady said she had been
trying to lose weight for years...and was finally able to with Leslie's videos.
She said she was walking one mile as soon as she got up...2 miles right after she
took the kids to school...and two miles again just before she picked them up.
And she had lost 51
pounds in about 2 months. I thought, well my goodness...that's
it. Breaking up that 5 miles during the day is the trick. You're keeping your
metabolism reved up all day so your burning more calories. I've been trying
to lose the same 15
pounds since our last baby was born 31 years ago...and this is
finally working for me. I'm very excited...hope you start today. I know you
said you don't feel fat...I don't either...I'm 5' and weigh about 130...but my
face and midriff are a little 'pudgy' and I want to get rid of that 'pudge". :-)
Keep us posted on your progress.
My goodness...how did you people come to be in all these exotic places? Squeaky
Clean is in Asia, I think. You're in Jamaica...I'm on a little farm in Southern
Illinois with chickens and ducks and cottage gardens out the wazoo. :-)
Hope you can come up with a scale and weigh...and start today...keep us posted.
