Tropical Traditions processes their Virgin Coconut Oil with coconuts that are harvested within the last 24 hours. So how do you qualify this as "fresher?" Sounds like marketing hype to me. Nutiva oil is from Fiji, and it is quite well-known that coconuts from the Philippines are a better quality, as they are grown in volcanic soil on mountains. Fiji is very sandy soil. One should look at the fatty acid composition, and Tropical Traditions claims that their Virgin coconut oil consistently tests above 50% for lauric acid.

Whew, I finally found it ! You are sure right, the coconut oil here is cheaper than TT and shipping is free.

I just ordered a gallon of TT oil. I have had so many bad ones from my local health food stores that I decided to just go ahead and order the TT one and be done with driving all over, buying all kinds and being so disappointed. I bought the TT one after reading other people's posts on it and also Mercola recommends it.

Have you tried Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil to see how it compares to Nutiva's ?
