a few questions appear to hav ecome up about Lexan an di was wondering if youhad found it to be toxic / instead of nontoxic
as was origianlly thought?
wouldn't you know lol now that i have replaced all my forks et c with it rofl !! i sit still ok to use? or hav eyou found new data that has changed the circunstances of it's ue?
also mydaughter will ahve to have braces. for a obout a yr and a half. the insurance only covers teh metal ones.. and even at tha twith a 1000 deductable and 25 % cost afte deductalb e is met.
it willnot cove r the invis ones etc..
any suggestions wha tmy daugheter might do to reduce toxicity during use woudl be very helpful / thanks.
i was planning having her use the pads at least 2 tiem sa week during use.

Hi Wrenn:
I would avoid metal braces as much as possible, due to the Nickel in the metal. The Nickel is used to give dental metals more bounce or flexibility, but it is a nasty metal to ingest and one that is difficult to get rid of. I am also not very thrilled with some of the cements that are used to secure the brackets.
Lexan is a resin and is less toxic, in my opinion.
If metal braces have to be used I would do frequent Epsom Salt baths, in addition to the pads.
Unfortunately, dental materials are researched mostly for their physical properties, such as durability, strength and resistance, but not for their biocompatibility. Hopefully that will change as many more of us start demanding less insulting materials.

yes i know i am so upset aboutthe braces thing.. there is no way we can do any alternative at this poin tin time.. so i will do as yousuggest and also be hoping for things to alter here to open the door to better product/
even moreso fo rher to be protected from the negative potnetial and only recieve the benefits 8)
i really appreciate the lexan info.. esp since i had bought all new lexan eatign ware and cookin gsponns ladles etc lol !!
several months back !!
