Hello, Everyone!
It's my first time trying to do the Master Cleanse! Any words of advise are welcome! I'm checking out this site on a daily basis (more like 2 times a day!), and I'd really like your words of advice and encouragement! I'm so thankful that there is a 'place' like this that exists!
I'm here to become 'cleaner' and to focus on life, as opposed to what the next meal will be! I've had a constant struggle with food, and I go in waves - where I'll be really consistent with eating healthy veggies, fruit and rice, and then go 'crazy' with junky/unhealthy foods! I'm doing this cleanse in order to get back on track and eat well - especially before the holiday season! I'd like to be in a proper mindset before all of the temptations get a chance to hit me! Please offer any words of advice and encouragement! I'm here to do the same. Yippee! I'm almost halfway through day 1!

I'm feel just fine - I'm sure that's due to the pizza that I ate last night - my body's still working on breaking that down so I'm not really hungy! We're supposed to be going grocery shopping today - so that'll be a big enough test for me!
You know what's crazy - I'm watching the Dr.Phil show with the 13 contestants that are pretty much ready to rip each other apart over the groceries that were purchased (Doritos, etc.)! The really crazy part is that any one of us could be in that situation - the longer we wait to take control of our lives! Anyway, one of my major questions is whether it's okay to use a sweetner instead of the maple syrup? I suppose the fact that it's called Artificial Sweetner is probably an indication that it's a no-no but after using it for so long, I was hoping to avoid the maple syrup.
Any tips that help, are absolutely welcome! I like reading the postings too! Keeps me inspired!

This is a reply to # 644,886You shouldn't use the sweetener. The reason we should use the maple syrup is because of the minerals in it. Keep up the good work. I am just a beginner myself!!

I completely understand about the maple syrup. I'll make sure to continue using it, rather than attempting to substitute the sweetner. I'm off today and tomorrow, but return to work on Wednesday. That's the part I'm afraid of. It's a gym and people seem to think that if protein isn't consumed on a 2-3 hour basis, then there's something incredibly wrong! So, I'm going to try to come up with some creative, 'cause it's a 13 hour day. I usually get to eat on my own, but it's the question of, "So what did you eat for lunch?" that'll throw me off. Any suggestions?

This is a reply to # 644,894Just tell them what you're doing. You're doing a fast/cleanse detox to clean out your system and make sure everything is running smoothly. Say it offhand like it's something that everyone should know and do (which is true!) and they'll probably not bat an eye -- or want info on how to do it themselves! Hell, you could be a trendsetter there!

This is a reply to # 644,879From one Pisces to another, good luck! This is day 8 for me, first time doing it, and I am very glad I have been. There are some ups and downs, but mostly I just feel great that I have stuck with it this long. My main tip would be to go easy for the 10 days and give yourself time to rest. I noticed I wanted to sleep more than usual. Also, you mentioned you work in a gym. Not sure if you are planning to work out during the cleanse. Lots of people do and seem fine, but I noticed that I could only work out in the early evening. If I tried in the morning, I was way too exhausted.
Anyway, keep it going. The first few days can be tough, but I think it's worth it!Advertisement
