Hi Pam
Very good advice and I am fully in agreement.
However, acidophillus is a lactic bacteria and what you have is a freeze dried product. These probiotics are also important for a healthy and fully functional digestive system. Good probiotics should contain the following:
i) 100% alive and active
ii) multi-strained that would include both colonizing (permanent) and transient strains. This is necessary as some are more effective in the small and others in the large intestines and yet others in the stomach.
iii) they are protected against the strong stomach acids when consumed so that they are properly released to work in the intestines. The stomach acids if fully concentrated can get to a pH of 1-2 which will kill most living organisms!
iv) contains powerful lactic bacteria like Enterococcus faecalis TH 10 which has been shown to inhibit MRSA, VRSA and E coli 0157 in in vitro tests. These are
Antibiotic resistant bacteria.
Hope the above is imformative and useful
Take care
